Wake Me Up When November Ends

Holy shit. I know I say this constantly, but how is it almost December already!? I seriously cannot believe how quickly this year has flown by. I am always a "love the one you're with" kinda gal, and I am currently eating up every last pumpkin flavored bite of the Fall. I love the weather, the traditions, the food, and the excuse to slow life down a bit and get cozy! After a whirlwind summer, I have been loving the opportunity to spend some time in Seattle. I live in such an amazing city, and this season has I have fallen in love with it even more.

Despite the slower pace, I am still the #worstbloggerever and couldn't seem to find an opportunity to write a damn thing. So, here is what has been keeping me busy this season.

Baking

Rainy weather means more time inside... Pumpkin muffins and sugar cookies were some of my fav treats we baked.

Lil Dicky Concert
To nights we won't remember with people we won't forget, right!?

Halloween

We all know I love a good excuse to dress up, and Halloween... The best excuse in the book. Such a fun night with this crew wearing my easiest costume yet! Old hat, clearance Old Navy Dress, an old backpack, and a few logo printouts... Tada! Who you gonna call? Ghost Busters

Sip 'n Paint

Just lemme know if you have any artwork needs, I got you covered with my mad skillzzzz! Seriously, such a fun a unique evening, and only a little stressful. If you haven't gone to one, it is an absolute must!

Tyrone Wells Concert
Insert heart-eye emoji! This was my fourth time seeing him in concert, and every time I swear I swoon a little more! Also, my sis fell in love with the guitar player, and someone totally told him. WHOOPS. But like, how cute are they?

Thanksgiving

OMG you guys, my roommates and I hosted a major holiday for the first time ever! I feel like such a big kid! It was a lot of work, but I totally worth it! We had a little "Friendsgiving" which was the perfect way to spend the day. First thing Thursday morning I grabbed my apron, turned on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and let the cooking begin! I wanted to have a little something to snack on in the morning, so I put out some breakfast burritos along with the cutest little turkey shaped cinnamon rolls which were almost as delicious as they were festive. As everyone began filtering in, it was time to crack open the wine and let the eating commence. I put out some naan, hummus, veggies, charcuterie, and asparagus rolls... Plus we had the most amazing guests ever and they brought lumpia, garlic shrimp and fried ribs. Uhhhh... Finest appetizer spread ever... Besides, aren't the starters kinda the best part anyways? Then the boys started preparing our TWO turkeys, while I finished up the rolls, green beans, potatoes, gravy, and jell-o salad. We also had some awesome Brussels Sprouts and cranberry sauce to complete the meal. Last but certainly not least; dessert! I made peanut butter brownies with a turkey on top which was accompanied by a pumpkin pie, cheese cake bites, and lots of ice cream! An old coworker of mine joined us an brought an amazing pecan pie which was demolished as quickly as it arrived. We continued to graze for the remainder of the night as we put away countless bottles of wine. We had such a blast and it was so special to spend it together. Truly the definition of Eat, Drink, and be Merry!

Happy Last Day of November, Loves! Now.... Bring on the Christmas Cheer!

Sick Storm, Seattle!

NOT!
Last week, it was predicted that we would be having the biggest storm Seattle had ever seen. Prepare for week long outages, they said. Make sure you have plenty of food and water, they warned. Don't even leave your house, they advised. I prepared! I stocked! And then... I left my goddamn house because NOTHING happened. So much for the stock-pocolypse I had sitting on our kitchen counter and all the wine I was prepared to drink while making all my Oregonian friends jealous of our sweet squall. #stormenvy

What a bust! Luckily, the weekend was still a success.
Friday was my last day at my old job (ohhhh, btw I went back to my old job which is only blocks from my apartment... woo me!) so we spent the evening blaring Lil Dicky at our less than classy wine night where we ate our weight in storm provisions.

Saturday was an adorable day of exploring Capitol Hill.
We started at General Porpoise which had the BEST donuts I have ever experienced. They were so cute and delicious and well worth the trip.

We walked around the hill for a bit, wandering into markets and an adorable book store before checking out the new Starbucks Reserve Roastery &  Tasting Room.
Oh my gosh, you guys! It was awesome! Super cool vibes and lots of fun things to try.

We tried a a few flights of coffee, cold brew, and espresso. How hip are we? Zach and I topped the evening off at a bar crawl in Georgetown. Again, so trendy!

Another highlight was going to The Seattle Meowtropolitan, the cutest coffee shop where you get to play with cats! So fun!

We spent the rest of the day laying around, watching Grey's Anatomy, and cranking up the fire place. It was a cozy end to a not so stormy weekend.

Final Wedding Weekend

Scariest thing to happen this October!? I have no more weddings this year. I honestly can’t believe all of the beautiful celebrations that have come and gone, and am still in the clouds over every last one of them.

This weekend was my final nuptial hurrah, and it was certainly one for the books. My dear friends Chris and Kayla tied the knot in Eugene, OR on Friday which was the perfect excuse for a little road trip. Zach and I headed down after work Thursday and were thrilled to celebrate with the groom a little bit the night before his big day.

An early morning breakfast burrito run, a little sight-seeing, and several cocktails later we were ready to get the lovebirds married!

It was a beautiful ceremony and a perfect reception that led to a rough morning, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Since I was already in Eugene, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to hit up my first Duck game! It kind of worked out flawlessly because I was able to join Caitlin & fam for their traditional tail gate and sit with them during the game. Plus, it was the Huskies v Oregon brawl! Score.

Despite the loss (which was fucking brutal) and all the shit I talked before the game (still hate the huskies, btw), I had a blast!

I got to spend the remainder of the weekend with Cate and Russell. I can’t tell you how nice it was to relax all day Sunday and spend some quality time with the newlyweds. Plus, I didn’t put on a bra all day Sunday… So there’s that.

Cheers to the end of wedding season; arguably the best one yet!

Give Up Dinner and Other Life Thingsss

Well… Yesterday I hit rock bottom on my evening meal. I was dreaming of a take-out box full of Yakisoba from a place down the street, but after laundry & cleaning I was totally exhausted and couldn’t be bothered to leave the house. To the cabinets I went. Then I remembered… they’re empty. Somehow I managed to find some stale noodles and a jar of alfredo sauce. *Light Bulb* There are some frozen Costco hot dogs in the freezer. Score. So that was my dinner… I call it Costco-Dog Carbonara, and I ate every bite of it… So there is that.
Other exciting things in my life include trying a new trivia spot on Monday night and actually kicking ass at it… Granted, Kev answered most of the questions, but Zach and I had a few pretty clutch additions. Last night I got shit done around the house. I am in the process of redoing my bathroom which I am pretty excited about, and looking forward to the last wedding of the season!
Well, two paragraphs and you’re caught up on my life… Just living the dream over here.
Happy Hump Day!

It's October 3rd

Such an iconic day, amiright!?
Really, I love every day of October and am so excited to have started the month out with a bang.
I ended September with my sister and Auntie in Portland. We stayed in for a cozy night of dinner, dessert, and How to be Single… For the third time… Because I need all the pointers I can get. #allthesingleladies
Saturday was full of brunching, pumpkin hunting, baby snuggling, over eating, and over drinking.

All of my favorite things!
Sunday Zach and I headed back to Seattle, but not before some last minute snuggles with my sister and cousin, homemade mac and cheese, football, lifetime movies, and a tiny bit of puking. Good news, it wasn’t me!

It is always sad to say goodbye, but Zach and I gave ourselves a Papa Murphy’s & Movie Night light at the end of the Portland to Seattle tunnel. Is there anything cozier?
Other honorable mentions from the weekend include:

The Rosé & Strawberries Chlo and I owned on Friday Night
This Iced Coffee Recipe that we tried out Saturday morning and LOVED
And this perfect double rainbow that basically made my whole life
Hope you all had the best weekends and are embracing all the fall fun this season.
Cheers to October!

Weekend Dreaming

Happy Friday Eve, Loves!

I am basically losing my mind over here because I am so freaking stoked for this weekend. Come Monday, you can expect a super gushy post about best friend’s new baby, stories of a night out with Tay which are always sure to be epic, and tons of pics of my sis, Mattie, and I being super basic at the pumpkin patch. Are you excited? Because I am!
In preparation for all the baby snuggles I’ll be getting this weekend, I had to gather a few treats to bring the little nugget. That’s what aunties are for, right?
I am a sucker for a good craft and go crazy for a solid organization tool, so I decided to make a Medical Record file for the proud parents. I must say, I am slightly obsessed with the way it turned out.

 Cute, right? And soooo functional!
I wish I could take the credit for this adorable and practical gift, but I actually discovered it on this post by The Domestic Fashionista and knew it was the perfect little present for my sweet friends.
Of course, I couldn’t show up with just ONE gift. I popped over to Paper Source for the cutest card EVER and found this precious onsie at a cute little shop at the top of Queen Anne. Bonus – the buttons are magnetic which make midnight changings just a little bit easier. Double bonus – Penguins!

I always say I don’t like to “live for the weekends”… But maybe just this once it is acceptable… Just a little.

Here is to hoping the next 24 hours fly by!
Cheers!

Monday Must Haves

Happy Monday!

I am feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and not even a LITTLE hung over after this weekend. I spent my days watching movies, brunching, hiking, football watching, and only drinking a little. It was the perfect way to spend a rare weekend in Seattle.

It has been a while, so I figured I would share a few of my current obsessions with you all!

1. Due to all the weddings lately, I figured I should step my make-up game up a little... I am sad to report I may never go back to drug store make-up again. I made an insane Ulta haul a few weeks ago and am so thrilled with the products I picked up. Starting with the base, my Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup is worth every word in it's lengthy title. It goes on super light but provides a flawless coverage that lasts my sweaty self all day.

2. Again, fancy make-up for the win! The Hoola Matte Bronzer by Benefit is the bees knees. It has been especially useful lately because Summer Emily is in full swing, and my foundation was a liitttllleee light for this bronze goddess. This little nugget gave me a sun-kissed glow and helped enhance my skin color perfectly. Side note, I am not sure WHY they add the useless little brush to the photo. Everyone knows that shit goes straight in the trash. Please let me know if anyone finds use for those stupid little freebees.

3. If you haven't tried Trader Joe's Coconut Body Butter, you're welcome! This shit is creamy gold. I got it as a Favorite Things gift at a holiday party I attended, and it has quickly become my favorite thing. It is super creamy but doesn't leave an oily residue on your skin, plus it smells like a tropical vacation. I basically bathe in this stuff!

4. The Ulta Velvet Blush is true to it's name. It goes on incredibly smooth and comes in lots of fun colors... For 9 bucks a pop, you're nearly losing money by not swooping some up.

5. Good lord, I really am on a make-up kick. I've recently become obsessed with fleek ass brows, but don't have the time or energy to maintain these beasts. The Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel by Benefit was the perfect addition to my daily routine. Its quick, easy, and makes a huge difference in my brow game.

6. You know that magical feeling when you climb into bed and your freshly shaved legs graze your clean sheets and you feel like the goddess that you are? Yeah... Me either. Shaving my legs is right up there with yard work and eating mayonnaise if you ask me. Honestly, that is never changing... But the Women's Shaver with Pop-Up Trimmer Wet/Dry makes it the slightest bit better... Especially when I haven't shaved in an embarrassing amount of time and I start getting confused with a yeti. Basically, it is my leg machete and I am kind of in love with it.

7. I know, I know... I am super late to the game... But I can't get enough of my Birkenstocks. They are so cute, so functional, and so perfect. I feel totally trendy and love that I can slip them on for almost any occasion. I'll take a pair in every color, please! #sensibleshoes

Cheers to starting the week off right and to the pumpkin beers I'll be chugging this evening while watching MNF!
